At last the snow is melting and the reminders of the cold harsh winter is disappearing. Our homes are filled with the wonderful aromas of fresh baked breads and pastries prepared for the joyous celebration of Easter. The trees and flowers will soon be in bloom and are surrounded by the miracles of life.
Let us take a break from the hectic schedules and give thanks to God who has given so much especially the love of family and community.
Busy schedule as follows:
• April 8th, Saturday of Lazarus – preparation of palms and Easter Bake Sale.
• April 13th, Thursday – dying Easter eggs.
• April 14th, Good Friday – Decoration of Epitaphio.
• April 22nd – Garage Sale and Bake Sale
Thank you to Jan Gallas, Helen Markopoulos, Faith Takes, Jane Melas, Mr. & Mrs. Kordas, and an anonymous donor for the bag lunches.
The Philoptochos’ Sunday collection basket for OCMC netted $193.
It is hard to believe that in May we will conduct the Philoptochos Board of Directors’ elections. These past three years have gone quickly. If you are interested in serving on the Board of Directors, please let us know or contact Louise Mabin by e-mail. You must be a member in good standing and have attended at least 4 general meetings. We are always looking for capable and energetic board members.
The last few years have been busy for all of us. We are all given the opportunity to give to our church and community.
Please give your time to Philoptochos. In conclusion I would like to take this opportunity to wish the whole community:
Kalo Pascha and Kali Anastasi
