The Lord’s Prayer
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For Yours is the kingdom, the power and the glory of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen.
I believe in one God, Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and of all things, visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of light, true God of true God, begotten not created, of one essence with the Father, through Whom all things were made; who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary and became man. He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered and was buried; And He rose on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father; And He will come again with glory to judge the living and dead. His kingdom there shall be no end.
And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Creator of life, Who proceeds from the Father, who together with the Father and the Son is worshipped and glorified, Who spoke through the prophets.
In one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. I look for the resurrection of the dead and the life of age to come. Amen.
A Child’s Prayer (Morning)
Lord Jesus, I thank You for the gift of this new day. When You came to earth for us, You grew as a child in wisdom and grace. As Lord You received children in Your arms. You blessed them and said that Your kingdom belongs to them.
Dear Jesus, receive me also on this day and hear my morning prayer. Bless my parents, teachers and all those who love and care for me. Bless me, also, and protect me from danger and evil. Give me the strength to be truthful, honest, kind and helpful to others. Guide me to grow in grace and wisdom as a member of Your kingdom.
You are my Lord and King, and to You I give praise and thanks forever. Amen.
The Lord is My Shepherd
The Lord is my shepherd,
I shall not want;
He makes me lie down in green pastures.
He leads me beside still waters;
He restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 23
Prayer of St. Ephraim (Psalm 140)
Oh Lord and Master of My Life!
Take from me the spirit of laziness,
idle curiosity, the lust for power and idle talk. But rather grant to me, your servant, the spirit of soberness, humility, patience and love.
Yes, Oh Lord and King!
Grant me to see my own faults and not to judge my brothers and sisters for blessed are You! and to the ages of ages.
